1) If your vehicle was stolen, or someone attempted to steal your vehicle, call (802) 257-7946.
2) ANY type of Fraud, ID Theft, or Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, call (802) 257-7946.
3) ANY type of traffic accident involving a motor vehicle (this includes hit & run accidents), call (802) 257-7946.
4) Burglary or attempted burglary to your home; when a person breaks and enters a house, apartment, or commercial business with the intent to commit a crime, call (802) 257-7946.
5) Robbery from a business or from a person, call 911.
Crimes that can be reported online:
1) Theft from a Vehicle: Breaking into (broken window, door pried open, etc.) or entering a vehicle (through unlocked doors, etc.) with the intent to steal something.
2) Criminal Damage to Property: Intentionally damaging the property of another person or organization (no fire or explosive device involved).
3) Larceny: Taking personal property without owner’s consent with the intention of keeping the property. This does not include larceny of a vehicle, firearm, or license plate.
4) Property that was lost or stolen
The Brattleboro Police Department will take the information entered and generate an official Police Report.
You may only report crimes that have occurred within the Brattleboro limits. If the crime you are reporting occurred outside the Town of Brattleboro, please contact that respecting agency.
Please complete all information fully. Failure to provide sufficient information can delay the processing of the reported crime and future investigation.
After submitting your report, you will receive a case number within 3 business days.
If you have completed and submitted a report, DO NOT submit a second report about the same incident. If you haven’t received a notification regarding your online report within 3 business days, please call (802) 257-7946.
The online reporting system DOES NOT allow you to make additions to already completed reports. You will need to call (802) 257-7946 to make additions to your report.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Making false reports to law enforcement agencies or officers is a crime. Knowingly submitting a false police report is a criminal offense.
